As you may already know I’ve spent quite a lot of time at the Disney Parks and I honestly don’t know how people cope without a list of pre-booked Fastpasses.
Being from the UK I want to spend as much time doing and less time queuing which let’s be honest isn’t always the easiest thing to do at Disney World.
When you have pre-booked a Disney trip I highly suggest you look at pre-booking your Fastpasses too and if you are wondering what rides are worth a Fastpass, I have 19 worthy suggestions.
Hold up! What’s a Fastpass?
A Fastpass is a way of pre-booking a time slot to skip the majority of the queue of a particular attraction. You can pre-book 3 attractions a day and book another once they are used.
These Fastpasses are linked to your Magic Band or entry card and can be linked to other members of your party. It’s very easy to use and can be changed at any point via the My Disney Experience app or at a kiosk. Simple!
What attractions are worth a Fastpass?
Well my friend I have a list for you. A list based on fan favourites with of course the longest queue times. Skipping these queues will save you a mammoth amount of time. Just what you need to make the most of your holiday.
Peter Pan’s Flight – Magic Kingdom
This is a true classic and park guests go nuts for it. Jump aboard your very own ship and fly through Neverland with the help of a famous little Fairy.
It’s essentially a dark ride so nothing to thrilling but a great ride for the family. It’s one to experience at least once but for such a short ride, you could really do without the hour+ wait.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Magic Kingdom
Don’t be fooled by it’s rickety appearance.. this here is the wildest ride in the wilderness and you don’t want to miss it. It’s one of the 3 famous Magic Kingdom mountains and it’s full of thrills. Hold onto your hat!
Splash Mountain – Magic Kingdom
If you’d rather stay dry on this trip I suggest you give this a miss. You know that distant sound of screams you can hear as you walk around a theme park, this is basically why and there’s no way you will miss that huge drop as you wander through Frontierland.
I guess it’s called Splash for a reason.
Space Mountain – Magic Kingdom
Well if you are a true thrill-seeker, you might as well conquer all 3 right? This one is on a whole new level as your climb aboard a rocket that of course launches you into dark space.
The Haunted Mansion – Magic Kingdom
Ok here’s the deal, this ride is another park staple but it’s a hit or miss situation when it comes to queue times. So I’m basically leaving this one totally down to you.
Just have a look at park crowd levels and see how you feel. It’s a still worth a visit no matter what.. you know unless you’re too scared. That mansion holds 999 ghosts but there’s always room for one more.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – Magic Kingdom
And we are back with the thrill rides. This ride is a “family-style” coaster that sways from side to side as it speeds through the story of Snow White and the 7 dwarfs.
There are slow parts too but I wouldn’t get comfortable. This will definitely keep you on your toes.
Frozen Ever After – Epcot
Frozen isn’t just for kids you know and this little boat ride is fun for everyone. The characters come alive and the scenery is spectacular, but it isn’t all plain sailing as there may be a couple of little drops to look out for.
Being one of the newest rides at Epcot, it’s pretty popular.
Mission: SPACE – Epcot
Well I’m not going to lie, this really isn’t my cup of tea but you adrenaline junkies will love it. This is a full on rocket launch experience that makes you feel like part of the crew.
You can feel the forces working against you as you try to complete your tasks and for some it’s so intense that Disney had to offer a slightly friendlier version. So grab a Fastpass and decide how brave you feel.
Soaring Around The World – Epcot
Until Flight Of Passage came around, there was nothing quite like this ride. Ever wanted to glide on a hang glider? Now’s your chance.
Test Track – Epcot
Design your own car and test it against all elements.. how cool does that sound? Buckle up and get ready for some speedy racing.
Any Toy Story Ride – Hollywood Studios
I guess this is cheating because there’s 3 rides at the new Toy Story Land, but if you don’t fancy queuing you will need a Fastpass for every one right now.
Those lines get long! And here’s the annoying part.. you can only use a Fastpass for one of these Toy Story rides per day. So you can go take a spin on the Alien Swirling Saucers, go racing with the toys on Slinky Dog Dash or compete against friends on Toy Story Mania.
Rock n Roller Coaster – Hollywood Studios
Fancy hanging out in a limo, listening to Aerosmith hits? This ride is for you! And did I mention it’s fast?
The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror – Hollywood Studios
You can see this hotel from miles away but no one seems to be staying there. Curious right? Maybe you should go and investigate.. you know, DROP in?
Avatar Flight Of Passage – Animal Kingdom
This is without a doubt the most incredible experience but it’s a little intense. Ride on the back of a Banshee and soar through Pandora.
The sights, the sounds, the feels.. it’s all there and if you look close enough when exiting this ride, you will see a lot a happy tears. I’m not kidding!
Na’vi River Journey – Animal Kingdom
If you love Pandora but don’t fancy riding a banshee just yet, how about a soft boat ride instead. You will see areas of Pandora like you couldn’t imagine and the animatronic is so good, it’s unexplainable.
Catch? You guessed it, much like the Toy Story Land situation you can only choose one Avatar ride a day.
Expedition Everest – Animal Kingdom
Have you ever heard of the Abominable Snowman? Well I have a feeling you are about to find him and he’s not happy.
A coaster with a twist that might just send you in the wrong direction.
Kilimanjaro Safaris – Animal Kingdom
Risk a Fastpass or don’t depending on when you are visiting BUT you don’t want to miss this. Trek around Africa and keep a look out for some unexpected friends.
I’m talking hippos, lions, giraffes.. you get it. And yes the animals are real so if a rhino fancies a chill out on your path, looks like you just have to wait. Day or night, every time is different.
So are you booked up and ready for your next Disney trip? I hope these suggestions help.
