I’m no stranger to the Boots store, in fact I’m there a lot more than I should be. Typically I had an excuse that I felt was a good reason for a quick visit and that consisted of needing a foundation for everyday use. Don’t get me wrong I love my MAC, Kat Von D and above all Nars, but for working days I just prefer a cheapy foundation. So it’s very clear by now that I needed a foundation right? That was my whole purpose and goal from this trip. And what did I end up with? You guessed it, everything but foundation. It wasn’t like I forgot, I was hunting around for a good 15 minutes looking for the new NYX Total Control Drop Foundation and it was nowhere to be seen. Highly disappointed but whilst I was already in the store, I convinced myself I needed a few other bits.
So what did I pick up? I’m sure you’re just dying to find out!
Not so long ago, I mentioned in this post that I was eager to try the NYX primer that everyone has been talking about. I finally picked it up and I’m excited to see if it was worth all the hype. I love the NYX brand (shock!) so I will be very surprised if this isn’t a hit for me but you never know. Either way I’m sure a review will be heading this way very soon.
Well we all knew I wasn’t capable of picking up just one item from that impressive NYX stand. It just calls me ok?! I have plenty from this range but a few new shades have been popping up and knowing the formula is always a success, I went for the shade Seduction. This shade is a warm mahogany tone which is so perfect for the Autumn that I was easily seduced (pun very much intended). I can’t wait to wear this when I’m out and about.
I hardly ever invest in a lip liner, but I definitely want to change that. For £4 it’s too good to turn down and the shade Alabama would be a great match for some of my red lippys.
Yes I did pick up another liquid lipstick and no I probably didn’t need it. Either way, I bought it and I’m rather excited to try it. Who hasn’t seen Maybelline tweet about this product lately? They know far too well that I would be easily swayed to pick one up and it worked. Voyager is a rich red shade with a lot of punch and wow does it look incredible! Having only swatched the lipstick for less than 3 minutes, the formula took two makeup remover-soaked pads to wipe it away and even then I still had hints of red on my hand. Now that’s what I like in a lipstick.
This is by far the most intriguing product that I have picked up so far. I very recently talked about WunderBrow and can’t wait to see how this compares. The Tattoo Brow is a little different as it has to be peeled off after the application, but I am excited to see if it lasts just as well for the three day duration. Stay tuned for updates!
My adored Soap and Glory Archery Brow pencil has just given up on me and I thought it would be a good time to see if this pencil is even better. I stupidly didn’t swatch before buying and since having a closer look at home, I’m not too convinced that this shade isn’t a little light for me. I guess I will soon find out but fingers crossed it’s still usable without making me looking silly.
