I am far too excited about this post. I finally made an order on Colourpop and now I am a very proud owner of some liquid lipsticks, a highlighter, an eyeshadow palette, 2 lip pencils and the much raved about No Filter Concealer. High pitched squeal … and breathe!
I have had my eye on Colourpop for so long and I wish I had made an order sooner. It’s already very clear that this will become an obsession, in fact I’ve already made a list for my next order. These products do not disappoint.
Before I get into all the details, let’s chat about shipping. Shipping was the main (and only) reason for not making a purchase sooner, but when a recent offer for worldwide shipping was up for grabs, I took the plunge. So shipping costs aside, customs cost around £18 for a $50 order. Not incredibly cheap but I was admittedly expecting a lot worse. The cost was definitely not enough to put me off ordering again.. as I’m sure you can already tell.
Ultra Matte Lip
If you asked me what I was most excited about trying from Colourpop, it would be the liquid lipsticks. Not just any lipsticks, but the Ultra Matte Lip’s which just sound and look amazing. Reviews have always suggested that these were highly pigmented and long-lasting, but for the low cost of $6, I wasn’t expecting such incredible results. Not only are these extremely matte, they are also very comfortable, non-drying and easy to apply. Need I go on? I could.
I must’ve worn these for over 8 hours with only one reapplication that to be honest wasn’t needed. These could give Kylie a run for her money and as for colour variety.. there’s a ton. I personally had a Christmassy mindset when making my order and as you can tell, I opted for some of the deeper tones. I have struggled in the past to find a dramatic red that stays in place and applies well. Thankfully Colourpop have made this struggle fade away. So what shades did I go for? Let me tell you.
Described as a vampy red on the Colourpop website and I totally agree. Perfect for the colder seasons and great for a dramatic look.
I stunning deep brown/red tone that is nothing less than bold.
A dark toned dusty pink that is simply beautiful.
Want an intense red in your collection? Look no further.
A lovely pink rose shade that also happens to be one of Colourpop’s best sellers.
LAX, Arabesque, Tulle, Avenue, Bumble, Dukes (lippie pencil) and Bumble (lippie pencil)
It would be rude to not grab a pencil or 2, so I did just that. Boy am I pleased I did because these happen to be the easiest applying lip pencils I have ever come across and I wish I grabbed more. The formula is soft and long-wearing whilst still packing a punch when it comes to colour. I went for Dukes (a deep red) and Bumble (a soft rose). Both are priced at a cheap $5 each.
No Filter Concealer
I have heard so many good things about this concealer and now I know why. It’s incredibly comfortable and easy to blend, yet gives high coverage whilst remaining lightweight. Just how?! Bravo Coloupop! $6? Totally worth it.
S’il Vous Play Pressed Powder Highlighter ($8)
We all love a good highlighter and this one is too dreamy to turn down. A soft and silky formula that is very noticeable on the skin and not at all patchy. Just wait for that sunlight to catch you.
Yes, Please! Pressed Powder Shadow Palette
Oh I love a good eyeshadow palette and this is a palette of pure perfection. A combination of beautiful metallic and matte warm tones that truly make your eyes pop. There’s nothing subtle about this formula, so If you are looking for pigment.. here it is. All for $16.
So there it is, my wonderful and greatly used first Coloupop order. Do I regret anything? Not a chance.
