After such a long and tiring week of illness, I was determined to pick up a much needed lip scrub from the local Lush store. This was quickly shot down when I approached a boarded up store that was under refurbishment. Alas.. no lip scrub. This led me to a very different approach to lip care and I took on the task of making my own. A lot less glamorous looking I admit, but still it worked all the same.
This scrub was an easy DIY project that barely took 5 mins and uses ingredients that are likely to be in your cupboard right now. Ingredients include:
1 teaspoon of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of granulated sugar
1 teaspoon of honey
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of olive oil
If you didn’t guess, the steps are super simple. All you have to do is grab a bowl and spoon and mix the ingredients together. You will be left with a sugary, brown paste-like formula and as I said before it won’t look totally glamorous but it does the trick.
Use your finger to apply a small amount to your lips, leave to work it’s magic for a minute or two and gently wash off with warm water. Dead skin will be long gone leaving your new healthy-feeling lips as a wanted replacement.
