It wasn’t long ago that I took a stroll through the Superdrug beauty aisles and decided I wanted (needed) to explore some e.l.f products. e.l.f is a totally new brand for me but I’ve always heard about them and that was a good enough reason for me.
I figured I’d start with the basics like a foundation, primer and setting powder. A good introduction to the brand and all were affordable.
e.l.f Mineral Face Primer (£7.50)
Hands down my favourite of the three products and one I would happily repurchase without any hesitation. The overall consistency is silky and light making for an extremely comfortable base. Makeup easily lasts all day and maintains a smooth and pore-free finish. The ideal primer for any beauty queen.
e.l.f Flawless Finish Foundation (£7.50)
As foundations go, this unfortunately is not one of my favourites (not even in my top 5). The pump is a much appreciated element but it sadly doesn’t make the application process anymore enjoyable or any easier. The formula is difficult to blend compared to other High Street foundations and I found it a real task trying to build to a medium coverage although it’s not totally impossible.
This is definitely A foundation for minimal and natural looks as redness and blemishes will certainly need some extra attention from a good concealer when trying to disguise them. I’m sadly not a fan.
e.l.f High Definition Powder (£7.50)
Thankfully this powder managed to regain some confidence in the e.l.f brand for me. This loose setting powder provides a soft finish with it’s clear and delicate formula yet still manages to securely lock everything into place for all day wear. This helps achieve a radiant glow whilst still looking natural. It’s an ideal powder in every sense.
Have you tried e.l.f yet? What should I try next?
