I like to think that now days I have a good grip on what makeup works for me… atleast I hope I do. There are still times when I look back and cringe at the trends we went through during our early teens and let’s be honest there were some awful ones. Three in particular spring to mind.
The era of Dream Matte Mousse
Who doesn’t remember caking a thick layer (or two or three) of mousse-like foundation onto your face and rubbing it in with your fingers? More like spreading it if we are being honest. Of course it was usually two shades too dark but we still felt like flawless queens. Oh how wrong we were and nobody likes an orange streak above their neck. Tango anyone?
Because one coat of mascara just wasn’t enough. No we coated our lashes multiple times until they physically stuck together like glue. What a look that was right? Added to the fact that after all that effort you had numerous smudges on your eyelid to try and clear up.
Not naked as in a nice nude lippy, oh no! I’m talking about using concealer as a fabulous lipstick alternative because why not? Looking ill was the ultimate trend and let’s be honest, we never really used concealer for much else. Thank goodness times have changed.
Any trends you desperately regret? I’d love to hear them.
