One of the first things you think about when starting a blog is the name. This can be a surprisingly difficult step but it is important. It is of course the name of your “brand” and it’s something that you want people to remember. Where to find inspiration can seem like such a chore, so here are some ideas.
Use your name
Keep it simple and use your name as inspiration if your name fits. For me this just wasn’t an option. Having a double-barrelled last name doesn’t make things easy that’s for sure.
Use your niche
If you are going for a specific niche when it comes to blogging, go with with it in the name. Remember this may limit options of changing your niche in the long term, but if you are ok with that then go with it. Readers will know exactly what your blog is all about.
Be more personal
Think of something that means a lot to you. It may just grab someone’s attention. Plus if you have a special reason behind your name, it can be quite motivating for you. Well, atleast I think so.
So where did Thimbles and Spoons come from? Pretty random right? Well my great grandmother used to collect small thimbles and silver spoons, so that was it for me. A little nod to someone I love and miss dearly.
What’s the meaning behind your blog name?
