In the last couple of weeks the weather has been totally up and down and the occasional hot days have been bliss. One thing that comes with the heat however is the need for different beauty products and a routine that will ensure your makeup won’t melt away before you even leave the house. These products don’t have to be expensive and odds are you have them in your makeup bag already, but are you using them when you really need to? These products will certainly be beneficial during the hot days.
Perhaps the ultimate godsend for sun-filled days. That oily T-zone is annoyingly the best of times, but it’s your worst nightmare in the heat. A few pats of this magical paper will reduce that disastrous greasy shine within seconds.
Obvious right? If you want a foundation that will last all day, a long-wear foundation is your best bet. Look for the bottles that actually state “long-wear” on the front or a good hour rating. My personal favourite is the very popular Double Wear by Estée Lauder which claims to stay in place for 24hrs. Now I know you’ve heard about that one.
Primer can be so underrated. Does it work? Is it necessary? Yes and Yes! Not only does primer create an even and in some cases pore-less base, it also helps your foundation last longer throughout the day.
Setting Powder and Spray
After all that effort it would be a shame to ruin it. Lock everything into place with a few strokes of setting powder (particularly on the T-zone) and spritz that trusty setting spray for extra lasting power. Here’s a few of my favourites:
Another little helpful tip? Look for products with good SPF ratings for extra protection against the sun. So many foundations include an SPF rating now so hunt around for the best one that works for you.
