Regardless of how it may seem, I actually find it quite the task when looking for a foundation that works well with my skin. I knew that eventually I would give *Born This Way a go but I’ve made too many purchases in the past without getting a shade match before hand, I wasn’t prepared to make the same mistake again considering the price. Don’t get me wrong this isn’t the most expensive foundation I have bought, but it’s not the cheapest either. You do after all pay for quality.
I was expecting to pick this up later on in the year from Sephora but just by chance I wandered into Debenhams in London and practically jumped for joy when I saw the beautiful Too Faced counter. Of course this was a sign and I got swatched asap. It turns out Vanilla is my shade. Let’s just say I’m thrilled I didn’t opt for Snow (far too pale for me) that was suggested online.
Some first impressions from just being swatched really jumped out at me, the main one being the oh so delicious scent of coconut. This is ideal for me and it feels like holiday in a bottle. This delightful scent is all down to the included ingredient coconut water which helps skin feel replenished and healthy. I personally love it.
According to Too Faced the Born This Way foundation has a buildable coverage which I totally agree with. I would’ve expected a full coverage before looking into the product but this isn’t the case and to be honest, I’m ok with that due to its overall pleasing comfort. It’s definitely not cakey regardless of how many layers you decide to slap on. I tend to put 2 or 3 on to hide any redness and unwanted pores. Of course Too Faced created a foundation that blends easily and creates an even coverage without needing to work too hard. Would we expect anything less?
I have worn this foundation nearly everyday for the last 2 weeks and I can’t seem to put it down. The pump is an added bonus for easy application and my skin is appreciating the oil-free formula. My skin has never felt so healthy whilst wearing a foundation. It’s certainly ideal for the sunny season and I’m close to claiming it as a holy grail product. I’d say Born This Way is worth every penny.. as long as you get swatched first, there are 24 to choose from after all.
