Now days there are so many different opinions on products and it can be difficult trying to make your own decision on what products to buy. It’s even more daunting when you may be forking out a little more money than you usually would on a high-street brand. With so much hype around various high-end products it can be a blessing or a huge disappointment. We’ve all been there, bought that pricey powder because beauty gurus have branded it to be a holy grail, only to try it yourself and hate it. It’s not necessarily because the product wasn’t great, it just may not have worked for you.
There’s been a few negative experiences I have gained from following hype, such as my unsatisfied view of Benefit’s Pore Professional but I’ve also agreed with the reviews of some hyped products. It’s a risk we all take but for me, these products have all been worth the hype and are a great investment regardless of the price tag.
*Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer
Well I hope you’re not sick of hearing about it, because this really is one of my all time favourite products and I certainly can’t get enough of it. Actually I need to buy another pot because I’m close to running out and I’m not prepared to try and cope without it. I never thought in a million years that a powdered formula would work for me as a concealer but I caved from the huge hype it received and never looked back. It’s such a high coverage finish without feeling heavy and conceals any undesired blemishes effortlessly. As you may have already heard (because I mention it a lot) I particularly love this for fixing up my eyebrows, a step I’d never overlook for the sharpest of brows. It’s perfection in a pot.
*Too Faced Born This Way Foundation
I haven’t been using this foundation for years on end but since picking it up a few months ago I love wearing it out. The formula is oil-free and easily builds to a full coverage without looking cakey. The finish is beautifully natural and creates a healthy glow, ideal for any occasion. I may even take this on my travels later in the year. It’s a favourite for a reason and one that I love just as much as my Nars Sheer Glow (something I thought I’d never say).
*Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
Here’s another little beauty that I can’t seem to keep quiet about. Too Faced knocked it out the park with this mascara and nothing has ever come close for me. The volume and curl is something that amazes me with every use and I’ve rephrased very happily a number of times. High quality and impact would be an understatement.
*Benefit Hoola Bronzer
By far my favourite bronzer of all time and it’s almost a cliché to say because it’s such an obvious choice. I struggled to find bronzers for so long, finding so many to be patchy and dirty looking. This came into my life and now I wear bronzer on the daily. I trust this product completely which may sound absolutely ridiculous but it’s great walking out of the house knowing you don’t look like a streaky mess. Yes this powder blends like a dream.
*Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
Who hasn’t heard of this spray? I’ve worked my way through multiple bottles of this holy grail and I won’t be stopping anytime soon. Don’t get me wrong, I like other setting sprays but I always find myself coming back to this one. In fact I’ve already purchased a travel size for my Disney trip at the end of the year. That’s dedication for you.
*Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
I squealed like a child when I finally got my hands on this beautiful palette and to be honest I still squeal a little inside when I use it now. I wanted this palette for ages and eventually bit the bullet (even after all the Subculture craziness). There’s just no denying that the shades are beautiful and are easy to blend. There’s 14 shades all together and I’ve loved them all.
