So there I was huddled up in my warmest PJs thinking to myself that this Winter has already taken a toll on my skin. My hands were dry, lips cracking and my body overall just feeling a bit sorry for itself. Thankfully it was only a couple of days after this thought that a package kindly gifted from Nivea arrived. This delightful package was the *Fresh Blossom Gift Pack which included a Cherry Shine lip balm, a hand cream and body lotion both in the new Cherry Blossom and Jojoba Oil scent. The much-needed testing began.
Let’s be completely honest, I haven’t tried out many of Nivea’s lotion products before. I have always loved products such as the fabulous Double-Effect Eye Makeup Remover and the Daily Essentials Scrub, but lotions just haven’t made their way into my shopping basket before. This set of gifted goodies could have just changed the game for me.
For me lotions are such a hit or miss. I can’t stand the idea of letting a lotion soak into my skin for the best part of an hour while I feel the inability to move. I also loathe the feeling of clothing clinging to me after I have moisturised. Anyone else? Thankfully this particular range doesn’t disappoint in this department and the body lotion formula soaks in within a couple of minutes. No tackiness, no fuss and it’s just the same when it comes to the hand cream. These products are very gentle, with no irritation on my sensitive skin but most of all they work. My body and hands feel nourished and healthy which means tackling the Winter may be a little easier from now on. Let’s not forget that the cherry blossom scent offers a sense of added indulgence with it’s a beautiful feminine aroma that’s not too overpowering.
The Cherry Shine lip balm is another new one for me as I don’t usually gravitate towards tinted balms. Tinted balms have never really suited my complexion and looked a little cheap, but once again Nivea pulled through. The pigmentation is very subtle which I find really desirable. There’s a hint of rosiness which gives the illusion you’ve made some effort before leaving the house and I love that for my lazy days. The balm also combats any dryness or cracking so what’s not to love?
Well I guess you could say this was a success. I’m loving the new scent and I’ve been converted to Nivea lotions (well at least this one). If Winter hasn’t been kind to you, I suggest you give these a go. Your skin will certainly thank you for it.
