November Favourites

November has been nothing less than a fabulous month for me and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t sad to see it go. Thank goodness Christmas is approaching because I live for the festive buzz, in fact I need it to help me get through this miserably cold season. Can you tell I’m more of a Summer girl? Anyway, November threw me through a complete loop when it comes to products and I have been exploring and testing makeup buys that I have lusted over for months and some I have never heard of. The US certainly offer some incredible beauty buys and I snapped up as much as I could.

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil

I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned before that oil formulas are a hit or miss for me. I often avoid them if I’m being completely honest but I was convinced this would be worth a try after watching Jade Billington praise it for it’s ease and effectiveness. I can often be lazy with my skincare routine, it’s just not a process I particularly enjoy so any product that is going to cut down on time sounds good to me. This cleansing oil does just that. With just a couple of pumps the oil breaks down product from your face and neck without feeling harsh or feeling the need to scrub. It’s desirably gentle for those with sensitive skin and it removes every speck within seconds.

Bath & Bodyworks Foaming Warm Vanilla Scrub

Oh my goodness I don’t think I truly knew the meaning of exfoliated until now! This scrub is the epitome of dreamy and I wish I grabbed a couple more bottles. Let’s pause for a second and talk about the scent because let’s be honest, that was the big selling point for me. Well it’s pretty impressive, enough to make you crave cake and cookies (although it doesn’t take much for me to crave those things anyway). The actual scrub is a whole new experience for me. I’ve tried a few scrubs before (not too many but enough) and this is completely unique in the way it foams. It’s effective in getting rid of any dry areas but it doesn’t leave the skin feeling irritated. My skin has never felt so soft. It’s possibly the most ideal product for Winter and I’m going to be devastated when I run out.

Huda Liquid Matte Lipsticks

Yes I’m still head over heels for liquid lipsticks and a couple of trips to Sephora (what a heavenly store that is) resulted in purchasing a few of the Huda liquid mattes and couple of lip pencils which are also amazing. So I never really expected to grab these, they weren’t on my “must buy” list and I hadn’t seen too much buzz for them. Perhaps I had subconsciously been living under a rock because these are a game changer. Firstly I find it extremely difficult finding lighter shades that suit me and tend to veer towards reds. The Huda shade range changed this for me and I picked up shades that were completely new to my collection. Once again, I wish I grabbed more. Now I’m not going to lie and say these are the most long-wearing lipsticks I have ever tried (Kat Von D still to beat) but the comfort level makes up for this factor and I only top up once or twice on a long day. Considering I first tried these out in hot Florida temperatures, this really isn’t too bad. They are definitely worth trying for yourself if you haven’t already.

Revolution Pro Brow Pomade

I have used this on and off for months but whilst I was away, it was basically all I used to get my brows just right. Well that and some concealer. I think pomades really intimidated me in the past due to the levels of pigment but now I love them for that exact reason. This particular pomade is the perfect shade and it’s so easy to apply with the right brush. One stroke of this bad boy and you will see the difference. Brows stay in place all day so you can avoid looking permanently confused by the evening. What I find even easier is giving it a spritz of priming spray before dipping in the brush. The world of difference!

Beauty Blender Defender

Now here’s a strange one to mention on a favourites list but it deserves to be mentioned. Thanks to my husband (still weird saying that) I was gifted a strange silicone cage designed to hold and air-dry my beloved Beauty Blenders. I had seen this before but hadn’t been gripped by it and now I absolutely adore it. I use my Beauty Blender every day and I dreaded the thought of using a misshaped sponge for the duration of our Florida stay. This “defender” was a saviour in this situation and it held 2 blenders in perfect shape. I’m yet to use it as a dryer after I’ve cleaned my blenders but I’m a fan either way.

I still have so many products I need to test and work my way through so who knows what will appear on my next set of faves. I’m excited to find out. Now all I need to know is what’s on your list?
