Well I don’t know about you but when I think of pixiedust, I think of absolute blinding shimmer with all of it’s magical goodness. That and of course Peter Pan and his fabulous fairy friend Tinkerbell.
What you don’t necessarily think about is eyeshadow palettes and boy does this girl own a few (hundred). Now I’m not the biggest user of shimmers when it comes to eyeshadows but I do venture out of my comfort zone every now and then.
I can also admit that the odd shimmer can really make an eye look pop and I’m all for that!
So if you are forever hunting for an everyday palette that also packs a little pixiedust, I have 3 that are perfect for you.
Now I’ve tried a few lipsticks from the Jeffree Star brand and I don’t mind the odd YouTube session either, but I had never dived into a Jeffree Star eyeshadow palette before.
Enter *Blood Sugar, a palette beautifully packaged with it’s Captain Hook-red coloured case and it’s Neverland of 18 shades. This palette is more like a collection piece and one I keep very well protected, added to the fact that this palette can be hard to come by if you don’t catch the Beauty Bay stock in time.
At first glances the pixiedust factor is not what it seems. There’s a variety of perfect neutrals, seductive reds and that punchy pink shade would easily suit any of the mermaids down by the lagoon, but pixiedust?!
Look closer and really soar into the palette. There’s 4 shades that could easily give Tink a run for her money and I am living for them. Perhaps some are more metallic but still just as magical, these shades include:
Donor – a beautiful rich gold, almost treasure-like
Candy Floss – a soft shimmery pink
Sweetener – a peachy gold
Blood Sugar – An indulgent shimmery red, perfect for any pirate villain (or you know, anyone who loves a red shade)
These shadows practically glisten on the eyes and they suit any adventurer willing to treat themselves. With such a great shade range, large sized pans and various finishes that all blend perfectly, it’s basically your very own treasure chest.
Jeffree Star to the right and straight on ‘til morning… Sorry I couldn’t help it!
Let’s be honest this is an incredibly loved palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills and I personally can’t get enough of it. All 14 shades scream for attention and I love each and every one of them from the nudes to the deeper tones.
Of course however *this fabulous palette wouldn’t be on this list if it didn’t include a couple of shimmers so where’s the pixiedust at?
Take a glance, or even a quick swatch (if you can’t resist temptation) of Vermeer and Primavera. 2 gorgeous shades packed full of glistening goodness.
Vermeer can be described as a soft rose and Primavera is a light gold, both soft and feminine but what’s even more impressive is that both shades can easily double as a highlighter.
It’s a great addition to any makeup collection.
Too Faced are always upping their game right? Well this Christmassy palette is nothing less than a delight and it contains the most amount of “pixiedust” out of all 3 palettes. Out of 18 shades, nearly half are shimmers but all are bloody glorious.
Shimmers don’t have to be safe! Sure we all love a frosty white or rosey pink but why not explore some darker tones too like a deep Maleficent purple?
Well whatever you fancy it’s here so there’s no feeling like a bit of a “lost boy” or girl. And to top everything off with these perfectly formulated shades, they smell deliciously like gingerbread.
I’m not sure it’s your typical Neverland scent, but it’s still dreamy.
So grab your bag of jewels and fly over to your nearest makeup store (or website). These beauties do not disappoint.Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links which allows me to earn a small commission if you use the provided links to make a purchase.
