It may sound silly but one of my favourite things to do during my Florida trips is to spend a couple of hours in places like Walmart and Target, particularly browsing the beauty aisles (and food of course but that’s not what we are talking about). I just love the feeling of finding new products and there’s a lot of them considering the variety compared to what’s on offer in the UK. I’m not complaining, but it’s amazing what products you can find for such a great price and there’s different products for familiar brands too. Have I caught your attention? If you are hopping on a plane to America soon, here’s a few products to look out for.
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
Well I was late to the game but so many people have raved about this sweet smelling bronzer and I was intrigued. It has some beautiful packaging, a great amount of product and a few shade options, but this surely couldn’t replace my love for Benefit’s Hoola right? Well I’m just as surprised as you because since I picked this up, I haven’t touched my Hoola bronzer once. This Physicians bronzer is one to beat due to it’s perfect, natural glow and silky texture. I’m so glad I grabbed a couple because I’m definitely going to be getting my use out of them.
Airspun Loose Powder
I put all blame on Patrick Starrr for this purchase and it does not disappoint. This powder is on a whole new level and I’ve never experienced a powder like it. It’s long-lasting and really helps combat any oils, plus it’s great for brightening under the eyes (god knows I need it) and it’s huge so it will last you a lifetime (unless you are going a little crazy).
Hard Candy Pore-Defence Primer Serum
So I have never heard of this brand before and if I’m being totally truthful, I picked this up purely because I thought the bottle looked interesting. That’s good branding though right? Well I’m so glad I just threw it into the basket because it’s been a real surprise. An unexpected hidden gem if you will. The formula is a tiny bit tightening (which I actually quite like) but dries down quickly to a very comfortable texture. It disguises pores and keeps oils at bay, perhaps more than any primer I’ve tried before. I’m not sure if there’s much hype around this particular primer, but if there’s not.. there really should be.
Maybelline Mega Plush Volume Express Mascara
A purchase purely based on “oh a Maybelline product that’s not in the UK” and no I don’t feel bad about it. It’s not a “bam! In your face” mascara but for your everyday makeup I really like it. The wand is very flexible so it reaches even the smallest of lashes and it fans out lashes perfectly. There’s absolutely no clumping and although the lashes look somewhat natural, the mascaras enhances this with a little volume and length.
Physicians Formula Butter Highlighter
I loved the bronzer so I went back for the highlighter which also smells just as delicious and the packaging is just as cute. Clearly Physicians Formula know exactly what they are doing because this highlighter is perfectly blinding.
I have so many more American products to work my way through but I couldn’t hold back from sharing these with you. No doubt there will be more reviews on the way so hit the subscribe button to keep up to date. Are you a fan of American makeup? What’s your fave?
