Goodbye 2018 and hello to a new year! A new year of exploring, testing, loving and absolutely loathing new beauty and skincare products. I can’t bloody wait! But it wouldn’t be right to leave 2018 behind without talking about some of the amazing products it’s brought my way, some unexpected and some that I consider my holy grails. So pull up a chair because there’s a lot we need to talk about.
Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Eyeshadow Palette
From the first time I laid eyes on *this palette I knew it was nothing less than a necessity. That might sound a bit much but this palette is one of dreams and I personally love a matte eyeshadow. Don’t you? There’s twelve beautiful warm tones to choose from and they a the epitome of perfection when it comes to blending. It may not be your typical everyday palette but there’s definitely a look for every occasion.
Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer
I know what you’re thinking. Holly enough with the *Nars Concealer already! But I just can’t help myself and it certainly deserved a place on this list. My brow routine has never been the same since coming across this concealer and the texture is so velvety and soft in your skin. It may be a little pricey compared to other concealers but it’s worth the investment. It tidies up your brows like no ones business and it camouflages imperfections with one tiny dab. Holy grail-worthy? You betcha!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
I lusted over *this palette for months before finally committing and I haven’t regretted my purchase for a second. Unlike many other beauty bloggers, this was my first dive into the ABH brand and of course it set the scale pretty high for me. The shadows are so full of pigment that I have no reason to hold back from buying more. The packaging alone is luxury so it’s no wonder this is a hit. Does it live up to the hype? Of course it does.
Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Charcoal Face Scrub
Skincare is such a hit and miss right? Well it is for me at least and although like so many others I love the Liz Earle skincare range, sometimes you need something a little cheaper for the “shit I’m out of money” moments. Boots to the rescue! *This scrub is the perfect daily cleansing product. It’s not harsh but still manages to work some magic and it smells pretty good too. What’s not to love?
Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara
I won’t go overboard because I’ve mentioned this a lot this year but wow what a mascara! I barely reach for anything else and there’s a good reason why it’s a fan favourite. Have you tried *this mascara yet? Your lashes will never be the same.
Bath & Bodyworks Foaming Warm Vanilla Scrub
On our recent trip to Disney World we decided to take a trip to the mall so into Bath and Bodyworks we went. I grabbed a few bits and this happened to be one of my favourite purchases, one that I hadn’t planned for. Dry patches have disappeared since using this scrub and it smells like a dream. I just wish I picked up 2 bottles.
I once swore by the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and I hate to say it, but I have barely touched one since I tried using a *Beauty Blender. I know it’s a little more pricey but I happily grab a couple when my current isn’t looking too fresh. I love the ease and texture to the Beauty Blenders and there’s a huge difference to your average makeup sponge. It’s one you really need to try for yourself.
Kat Von D Shade And Light Eyeshadow Palette
I know there’s a lot of different opinions around Kat Von D right now, but that aside her products are freakin amazing. For me it started with a love for the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks (which never budge) and than I bought *this palette. A palette for matte lovers and a palette I absolutely adore. If I had to choose one palette to use everyday for a year, it would probably be this one and that’s saying something. For me it just ticks so many boxes. It blends, it’s pigmented, it’s matte, it has nude shades.. I could go on but I think you get the point.
Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Foundation
I haven’t had the chance to really talk about this foundation yet but I have really enjoyed using this lately. I have very little Tarte products and this had me sold from the get go. I can’t compare it to the Shape Tape foundation but I’d say this is a hard one to beat. It has buildable coverage and looks beautifully natural on your skin.
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation
Hands down my most used foundation of the year. It’s just too good and it’s talked about everywhere. It’s a *foundation that has never disappointed, no cakey areas, no creasing.. nothing. I’ve never looked so fresh and awake.
Well that’s my list of products I’ve lived for in 2018.
