4 Red Lipsticks That Make Your Minnie Ears Pop
It comes to no surprise that as soon as you walk onto Mainstreet USA you are bombarded with a red blur of what else but Minnie Ears. I’m not complaining, these ears are classics and a staple to every Disney trip.
But what lipstick is going to make those ears pop in all your Instagram shots? This is the real question of a Disney trip right? Don’t worry I’ve got you covered and these 4 beauties are so perfect, even Minnie will soon be picking them up.
*Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Nahz Fur Atoo
Well I lasted all of 5 seconds before mentioning this lipstick again on the blog but it is worth mentioning. Now you may already know that I love this lipstick because it really lives up to it’s name.
It lasts for hours and hours meaning this is the ideal lipstick for long days in the Florida heat. I can certainly vouch for it as this was my number one red lipstick during my last trip.
Did it perfectly match my classic Minnie ears? It’s a smidge dark but still perfect for a photo with the mouse herself. What’s great about this lipstick is that it just doesn’t budge, but it’s not too drying either.
I have a good sized collection of these lipsticks and they have never disappointed. Definitely Minnie-Ears-worthy.
Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick – Creeper
I’ve made a couple of Colourpop purchases in the past and the lipsticks have always called me. Fast-forward to now, these aren’t the lipsticks I constantly reach for but I’d be lying if I said the colour payoff isn’t impressive.
Creeper happens to be a bold, classic red a bit like a certain someone’s signature bow right? Well it is a great match and it really does pop.
As for longevity, you may have to top up a couple of times if you are planning on exploring the parks until the fireworks start.
Something else to keep in mind is that this lipstick does transfer so it’s something to look out for after digging into that massive burger or Mickey Premium Bar. Worth it though right?
*NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream – Amsterdam
If you are looking for something a little cheaper, something that you can easily shove in your purse, this is one for you. It’s of course a soft matte formula (no duh!) so the texture is a little more gentle and moisturising on the lips.
This also means though that it doesn’t dry down as much as the other lipsticks so it doesn’t feel as secure. Will it budge? It’s not unlikely so be cautious when your grabbing a bite to eat or thinking of getting that perfect shot of giving Mickey a peck on his nose. Yes we have all done it!
As for colour this is a little bit more pinky but still worthy of consideration when you think about price. Plus that shade will still look great in the Florida sun.
*Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick – American Doll
I mean it says American in the name so that’s a hint right? Now I’m going to be completely honest and say that I very recently picked this up and haven’t tested it a huge amount.
So why am I mentioning this now? Well this is the perfect shade out of all 4 products. I don’t think you could get much closer in fact I’d say Minnie may be wearing this right now. Who knew? And even though I haven’t spent too much time with it, during those small sessions the formula has not budged an inch.
It dries down pretty quickly (not uncomfortably) and when I’ve been brave and tried the budge test.. nothing. It stays in place perfectly. I can’t say if it would last all day, but I’d definitely take this on my next trip so that counts for something right?
So is your makeup bag ready for it’s next magical adventure? I hope it’s Minnie appropriate because that fabulous mouse is going to love your lipstick.
