There’s no denying that Disney World‘s Magic Kingdom really is the most magical place. It’s that special place where you cry when you arrive and cry even more when you leave. Been there right?
Seriously it’s not just us who sob uncontrollably when we see Cinderella Castle.. if you look hard enough you’ll spot a few other emotional wrecks trying to hold back tears at the top of Mainstreet. I hope that makes you feel a bit better next time you’re saying “See ya real soon” to the park.
Now I’m completely biased when it comes to the Magic Kingdom (but you know that by now). It’s my favourite place in the world, the park I absolutely must visit on my first and last trip day (and of course in between). Heck I love it so much, I got it tattooed on my leg!
And because of all that, I’m going to share some must-dos that aren’t the typical recommendations that you see here, there and everywhere. So hold on to your hats because this post is the wildest post on the blog (not really but it sounded good didn’t it?).
As you well know, I’m a girl of Disney tradition and I start every trip with the incredible, pixie-dust-filled show Mickey’s Philharmagic.
Now don’t be confuzzled this is not a live show with actors but a magical 4D experience like nothing you’ve ever seen before.
Be a guest, travel under the sea, fly with Tink and catch a magic carpet ride through a whole new world of Disney film magic. Yep, you will be surrounded by your favourite Disney films and maybe even feel like singing along in the process.
And when that magic fizzles out, look up behind you. That silly duck!
Ye olde Christmas Shoppe
Sure you may be visiting the Disney Resort in the peak of Summer and sizzling in the hot sun but do you know what you need? A little trip to the Christmas store in Liberty Square. No it’s never(land) too early!
This place is a wonderland (or winter wonderland) of Disney Christmas joy and you can even customise your own Mickey ornament to hang on your tree. A new tradition perhaps?
Festival Of Fantasy Parade
Oh Holly.. this really is obvious!
Have you really been to Disney if you haven’t watched the parade at least once though? I think not!
So camp out and grab some food to snack on and get ready to wave to your favourite Disney characters like Belle, Elsa, Minnie and my favourites… (did you guess?) Chip n Dale.
There’s various spots dotted around for your perfect view of the parade and not just the typical Mainstreet area. Not sure where to go? I’ve got a helpful guide to help you find the best spots.
Be Our Guest Restaurant
Now I can’t comment on the dinner or breakfast experience but I can highly recommend visiting Beast’s Castle for a tasty lunch. The castle is beautiful with dining areas including the famous ballroom and the forbidden West Wing.
Don’t worry, you won’t have an angry Beast if you decide to explore this dark area.
And an absolute must to tick of the list, take the dishes advice and try the grey stuff.. It’s (you guessed it) delicious.
I very nearly replaced this point with the Happily Ever After Fireworks but that’s an obvious choice that you are definitely going to watch anyway right?
Instead I’m going to mention the hotel loop. Cheating perhaps? But it is a great park break and it’s very close to the Magic Kingdom park.
Exit the park and hop onto a monorail (arguably the best type of Disney transport.. am I right?). The monorail stops at 3 deluxe Disney hotels that are all well worth exploring.
So are you ready to zippity-do-da over to the Magic Kingdom yet? I know I am!
