What’s In My Holiday Makeup Bag?

November 10, 2018 No Comments

I have never been described as a girl who travels light when it comes to makeup. I’ve been known to regularly take two large and very crammed makeup bags with me on my travels regardless of duration of stay, but this time is different. I set myself a goal of being strict on what products I take to Florida and to minimise the size as best I possibly can. With all that in mind I created the perfect holiday makeup bag of the best, most travel-worthy beauty products I could think of.

What’s In My Holiday Makeup Bag?

The Body Shop Skin Defence
I’ve been after an SPF cream for a while particularly leading up to my holiday. Just by chance I was watching the fabulous Jade Billington on YouTube and she mentioned Skin Defence from The Body Shop. That was me pretty much sold and I’m excited to give this a go whilst I’m away.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser
Of course I couldn’t pick up just one item from The Body Shop so this primer worked it’s way into the basket too. I’ve been testing it out and it’s been a great base for my foundations. I even mentioned it in my last monthly favourites.

*NYX Shine Killer Primer
I like to take a spare primer just in case something happens or I run out throughout my stay. It wouldn’t be the end of the world but I like to be prepared. I was curious about this particular primer due to its claim to eliminate the look of excess oils and shine. In the Florida heat this could become an absolute essential as my T-zone never behaves in the sun. This primer can be applied before or after product so I’m very curious to see how well it works.

*Too Faced Born This Way Foundation
I knew picking a limited amount of foundations wouldn’t be easy and I managed to get my list down to three. One foundation I never had any doubt about was Born This Way, one of my all time faves as you already know. The coverage and longevity is just too good to leave behind and I know this will tackle the heat easily.

*Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation
I always feel my best when I’m wearing this particular foundation. It gives such a beautiful, refreshed appearance that it’s exactly what I want on holiday, especially when the camera is out.

*L’Oréal True Match Foundation
I’m all for indulging but I don’t want to use up all of my high-end favourites whilst I’m away. True Match is an incredible high-street foundation and it creates a soft and natural complexion with little product needed.

*Maybelline Eraser Concealer
A little while ago I decided that I wanted to start using this concealer more because I once loved it. I picked up a new bottle to try out again to see if the coverage is just as impressive as I thought it was before. I can’t imagine I’ll be disappointed.

*Revolution Conceal And Define Concealer
A fan favourite and one I really enjoy too. For quick makeup sessions before I hit the parks, I felt this would be a great option due to its coverage and it’s applicator.

*Benefit Hoola Bronzer
My absolute favourite bronzer to date and it’s a mini size. Benefit make some great mini sized products, perfect for travel and there’s usually an offer for when you buy a group of products. I would never hesitate picking up Hoola because it never disappoints and nothing says holiday like a bronzed glow.

*Revolution Bake And Finish Baking Powder
This probably isn’t the most practical of finishing powders to pack but it is a fabulous product for tackling the heat. This powder helps keeps my natural oils at bay so it’s a must for the holiday.

*Benefit Dandelion Blush
Once again another Benefit mini goes into the bag but this one I haven’t tried for myself yet. I’ve heard some great things about this blush and I think the shade is ideal for any occasion.

*Benefit Dandelion Twinkle Highlighter
To complete my stash of Benefit minis, I picked up Dandelion Twinkle which is a highlighter version of the blush. I’m not sure it will be my favourite highlighter but it does look beautiful and the packaging sold it to me from the get-go.

*Jouer Powder Highlighter Mini (Ice)
A highlighter for every look and one that doesn’t take up too much room. I use this almost daily so I know it works for me regardless of the weather or occasion.

*NYX Micro Brow Pencil
If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile now, it probably comes to no surprise that I’m taking this brow pencil. It’s been my most trusted brow pencil for a long time and definition is so easy to achieve. How could I say no?

*Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil
I thought I’d take the opportunity to finally give this brow pencil a go. The packaging is gorgeous I agree but I’m curious why there’s so many positive reviews around this one. I guess I will find out.

*Revolution Pro Brow Pomade
Because sometimes I crave more than a pencil and a pomade like this keeps everything in place for the sharpest brows. It’s basically a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Pomade and I love it.

*Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer
Nothing cleans up those brows better than this concealer. It’s a dream to use and so deeply satisfying.

*Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara
Must I really explain? We all know I’m obsessed with this mascara so I bought a new one just for this trip. Now I’m prepped for all my happy Disney tears and the water rides.

*NYX Super Fat Eye Marker
Now I still don’t wear eyeliner very often but for the days I fancy a little cat flick, this is the one I use. It’s just so easy to use.

What’s In My Holiday Makeup Bag?

*Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (Eden)
I wouldn’t say this is a necessity but I do adore this primer for keeping my shadows locked down. Some say a little concealer is just as effective but I disagree when it comes to this primer. It’s long-lasting and has a beautiful glow.

*Urban Decay Naked Petite Heat Palette
I love the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette but I would be devastated if the shadows smashed during a long-haul flight. This was of course the next best thing due to is perfect warm tone shadows and its travel-friendly size. I know I’m going to get a lot of use out of this one.

*Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette
I do love a TK Maxx bargain and this palette was one of the best. I adore Too Faced and although this isn’t my favourite Too Faced Palette, it is ideal for travel and has the perfect mix of neutral toned shimmers and mattes.

*Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks
I’m being very brave in the lipstick department and only taking three shades. I knew Kat Von D lipsticks were a must because they just don’t budge and I don’t want to worry about unwanted lipstick smudges throughout the days. Plus they are very long-lasting.

Nahz Fur Atoo – a beautiful warm red
Lovecraft – a soft pink/mauve
Lolita 2 – a warm reddish brown

*Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
After all of that, I need something that will lock everything into place and keep it there all day. Something I can really trust. Nothing compares.
